Watch Gent Wavelgem Live!

I got lots of great feedback when I posted where you can view Tour of Flanders live last Sunday.  I’m glad that many of you caught my post and were able to watch real live video of the race rather than text updates. However, I didn’t do a very good job explaining how to do this for the non-tech savvy cycling fan.   Hopefully this isn’t too confusing.

1. Go here to view the live Gent Wavelgem feed.  This feed will go live from 14:30 – 17:30 (you can see the servertime on the top right corner of the page). Next, click the television set icon on the right side of the screen

2. Once the feed goes live, you’ll see a number of green and red circles listed down the left side of the screen with the required software listed beside it (eg. SopCast, TVAnts, PPStream etc).  Before the feed is live, this info will not be displayed. Pick the feed that is green and has highest rating and download the appropriate streaming software that’s listed beside it from here.

3. Once you’ve downloaded the required software plugin (i.e. SopCast, TVAnts, PPStream etc), you can click the “play” link that’s listed beside the stream you want.

4. The plugin will launch and the feed will begin streaming live to your computer.

It may sound a bit confusing, but it’s really easy once you do it for the first time.  After you get it once, you’ll have live feeds to all the cycling events you want.

W00T!

BTW, I’m TIPPING Greame Brown, Mark Cavendish, and Tom Boonen to be on the podium.

I doubt Greame Brown has any chance against Cavendish or even Boonen

Columbia will be doing everything they can to reel back any breaks and save Canvendish for the sprint. And they have the firepower to do it. When it comes to a mass sprint Canvendish will take it

Thanks for the link!!

Here’s hoping that Cav will be there for the sprint, because there will only be one outcome…

I am not tech savvy, but I would say i am competent… I couldn’t get this to work. Even with the appropriate software downloaded clicking on the ‘play’ button gave me a blank screen…

Wish I could get this to work.

Do you use Internet Explorer or Firefox?

How great is this!
Nice one Wade.
I’m in Changi Aiport watching the race, only downside is i’ll be on the flight when the race concludes.

Hi Scott,

I’m using a PC (most of the p2p client programs aren’t built for Mac) and I use firefox.

MediaPlayer version 10 or 11 is the p2p client plugin that you’ll need. If you have that and click play on firefox it should work. That’s what I’m using.

Hope you get it sorted. Good luck!

Watching it from the Sport+ feed on the second line down (link is http://www.justin.tv/tvlive_hd) and it’s working great. The other feeds aren’t working as well
