How about vinokourov’s spectacular win at the 2004 paris-nice where he dedicated the win to his friend Andrei Kivilev who was killed in a crash the year previous.

There is nothing more evocative than a pro rider’s facial grimace. Either climbing, sprint finishing or crashing, the anguish shown by face is what makes cycling photography. For mine, the peleton’s finest grimacer whatever the race circumstances, was Jan Ullrich – a classic!

yes…definitely hard up for material CT, but cheap laughs always gets my vote!

My favorite TdF “most dramatic crash” is McEwen’s 2007 stage 1 win where he comes back from a crash to win. I couldn’t believe my eyes! Where did he come from?
