Had to drop to the back of the 150+ bunch this morning to capture the spectacular view coming down Oliver’s Hill on the Hell Ride.   Magic!  Decided to be a well behaved cyclist and stop at some traffic lights.  Never caught back on…bugger!

WW, after reading your article about supporting LBS. I was very proud be have known you. Then this Hell Ride picture and comment.
Like to hear you view about this ride with so much bad publicity about it.
  • I love the Hell Ride. I don't necessarily thing it's good for the perception of cycling in Melbourne, but it's not as bad as it's made out to be. Sure there are a few idiots, but that happens in any situation where you assemble a large bunch of people who are filled with testosterone. I do my part by being responsible and trying to set a good example which is all I can do. No one will ever stop it by trying to get riders to boycott it. This topic has been debated and there is no easy answer. Just do your part by riding responsibly and keeping everyone around you safe. Everyone is expecting to come home on Saturday morning unscathed and you can only do your part.

Nice one. That is the signature hell ride postcard pic. Not a bad shot considering it looks like your moving...

Oh how I miss the Hell Ride. Summers are the best when all the pros come out and mix it up amongst us. Can't wait to get back there!
