Extra Content and Special Offers

October 28, 2009 · Comments

I’m in the process of adding a new dimension to Cycling Tips.  From now on I’ll be delivering extra content right to your mailbox.  Every fortnight I’ll be sending one awesome article that isn’t available on the blog.  Also in this email there will be giveaways as well as special product or service offers with promotional codes that you’ll be interested in that I’ve negotiated for subscribers.

UPDATE: The first newsletter will include a draw for a kick-ass piece of Rapha clothing. Also, if you cannot see the form below it can also be found on the right-hand column of the website right under the CyclingEdge advertisement.  My apologies – some people are having problems with this.

I hope that I’ve earned your trust so far and intend on keeping it.  This is the most valuable thing that I have so you can be assured that I won’t be sending you spam or selling this email information to third-parties.

I’m away training in the high peaks of the Victorian Alps for the Melbourne long weekend so there may be no posts until next week (I’ll try but there’s limited internet access).

Once again, thanks for stopping by and making Cycling Tips a small part of your day.  I get a buzz out of this whole gig and I’m privileged that you chose this site out of the thousands of others to come and read.

Maybe look into Cforms by Delicious Days.
    Or an aweber optin form.
  • Thanks for letting me know Pete. I wasn't aware of any problems with load times but I'll look into it.

I'll also check into the form not working. It's not displaying correctly on my computer but it's still there. The same form is on the right sidebar underneath the cyclingedge ad. Can you see it there?
  • Pete
Oh, it seems to be working now. Not sure if it's due to the site redesign, or something else. The odd thing is, the form part ("Email:" + form + "Subscribe" button) is the last part of the page to load (I guess the way the html is coded). With my crappy internet connection, perhaps it drops out before this part ever loads.
  • Pete
I can't find the "form below to signup"! I tried Opera, Safari and Firefox (Mac OS X 10.5).
Also, is it just me, or have loading times been really really slow in the last few weeks? My internet is pretty crappy, so it might be that, of course… Still, this blog has been slower than other sites for some reason.
  • On Board.
Looking forward to the future with CT.
    Peace ;-)

Will one of these 'special products' be a Cycling Tips jersey? I reckon a short run of these would sell like hotcakes...or iced coffees...or whatever the seasonally appropriate food may be.
  • Locked and Loaded - I'm looking forward to some big leadouts when you get back.
  • Email news letter? Come on Wade. This is 2009. We got better tools for that nowadays.
  • Read much Chris G or Brian Clark or Chris Guillebeau etc etc?
  • No, no and no.
  • Done - looking forward to the additional content, and cycling vicariously through you as the days get shorter back here in the northern hemisphere!
  • Have subscribed!

    Have a great time!
  • I had a training camp up @ Bright a couple of weeks back... Came away hating my bike, and after being back for a day was wishing I was back there... Would love to know your times for some of the climbs up there...?
  • I'll be doing a reconnaissance ride of the 3 Peaks Challenge ride (as well as getting some good ToB training in!). 230km of some of the biggest mountains in Australia. Another "never again" weekend coming up...

    ;-)

Hopefully the BHP road from Omeo to Falls is open again - we were just up there last week and it was still closed due to snow! Buckland Valley to Falls and back via the Gap and Buckland to Hoth Heights return was suitable compensation with a couple of Buffalo ascents thrown in for good measure. I might be back at work but my mind is still in the mountains... *sigh*

Training for the Tour of Bright? :)
  • Done! Enjoy the hills! :D
