In next software upgrade it will guide you through on the monitor where you should be at each stage of the test. You however are always in charge of changing resistance level.

Yes correct Damien Keirl hit 1760 Watts, however at the last minute as we were packing up Grant Millen, a 27 year old footballer punched out 1775 Watts at 162 RPM ...... barefoot. Some great numbers by all.

Very cool. Does the software administer the various testing protocols for you? For example, will a ramp test be automatically done the way you set it up by the software, or do you have to raise the power levels yourself?

Looks like a great training and testing tool!

Good review WW.
Specially love the ability to monitor pedaling efficiency in both legs. Super important.
The only other way I know how to measure how your pedaling efficiency ie 'pedaling full circles' is going, is to do No Handed Wheelies clipped in. If you can get over 5 full pedal strokes in, you are well on your way!
Watt Bike will save you a whole lot of skin, go for the Watt Bike, much better option.
PaT :-)

Hey Wade, good review. Recommend looking into tax deductibility apropos purchasing review items, as I do for my sites.

Also, thanks for this, once the jolly old ATO refunds me for last year's exploits, I shall demo and check this out.

Cheerio,
Tim

Hmm, I think they're two very different things. The Wattbike does more than just measure power. The advantage of having a dedicated indoor ergo is the durability (you're not continuously putting on km's on your good road bike and flexing the frame in that trainer), the software analysis, and the pedal efficiency graph. If I had the space and money I'd love to have a Wattbike. Unfortunately both are limited for me at the moment.

Robbo, Wattbike UK are currently working with WKO+ so that the files can be uploaded. The session is recorded and able to be analysed in the Wattbike Expert Software at the moment. So any session done still counts.
