Giro d’Italia Stage 20 – Passa del Tonale

The spectacle of Stage 20 is another reason why I love the Giro so much. What other race sends the riders up snow capped mountains with ski season still in full swing?    The organizers had a few other routes planned in case snow fell like the forecast had predicted, however judging by past history it would have taken a blizzard for them to change the route.
How exciting was it seeing Lloydie battling it out for the mountains classification and getting back the jersey!

All I can say is, EPIC!

Richie Porte right up there with the big guns! 19th place was his result today and sitting in 6th on GC

Pozzato was almost 26mins back at the finish today

Johann Tschopp takes the win after battling it out up the Gavia with Simoni who wanted his last Giro win of his career (RCS Sport)

Cadel gets second on the stage at 16 seconds back. (RCS Sport)

You can't say Cadel didn't fight for it. He's 5th on GC at 3:47 down on Basso

Basso and Scarponi fight it out for 3rd and 4th. Basso holding onto Pink (RCS Sport)

Arroyo is still on his pink dogma?

  • D-Man

White jersey, points jersey, KOM jersey, stage victories, numerous days in pink & a genuine GC rider fighting it out to the bitter end. BEST. GIRO. EVER!!!

There's a great photo on cyclingnews.com of Basso riding next to Arroyo. Basso has pink jersey but everything else is bright green; Arroyo's entire bike is very, very pink.

I prefer the old school pink jersey only as opposed to the pink everything (or yellow in the TdF) that's been the rage recently. Better for the sponsor too in my opinion as you can still make out who they are when the knicks remain as previous.

I like the photo of Tschopp crossing the line with arms outstretched. I'm pretty sure the fuzz in the background is Cadel coming in for second.

In some rare patients, especially those that have had retreatments, epithelial ingrowth may occur. Epithelium is the outer surface skin that normally covers the cornea. In epithelial ingrowth, this tissue layer may grow beneath the Lasik flap. If it is significant, it may need to be removed. If your surgeon notes evidence of this phenomenon at any time, he may wish to see you at periodic intervals to make sure it remains stable and to determine if any intervention is required.
